Event ticket policy

All event tickets are non-refundable. Cancellation outcomes depend on timing and who cancels.

Player cancellations

  • More than 48 hours before event: the ticket transfers to a rain check you can spend on a future event.
  • Less than 48 hours before event: no refund, no transfer, no credit.

Dungeon Master / host cancellations

  • DM cancels the game: full refund.
  • DM reschedules: player may attend the new date or take a rain check for a future event.

Rain checks

A rain check is the credit you get when a ticket transfers. It is not cash back and it does not return to your card. It is a balance you spend on another event.

  • We create it when we cancel your order. Ask staff if you cancelled and have not seen one.
  • It is worth what the ticket cost before tax. You get the tax back a second time when you spend it, so the two work out to the same money.
  • To see it, you need a dungeon.club account on the same email you bought the ticket with. Sign up with that email and any rain check waiting on it attaches itself.
  • Your rain checks live at dungeon.club under Events. Pick the event you want and we turn the balance into a code for that event.
  • Spend it within 90 days of the cancellation. The clock starts the day we cancel, not the day you make the account, so sign up sooner rather than later.
  • If the new ticket costs less than your rain check, the difference stays on your balance for next time.
  • Tickets take one code per order, so a rain check code stands in for your member discount on that purchase. The discount is already built into the code, so you are not losing it.
  • Two rain checks at a time. If you already have two unspent and you cancel again, staff decide that one by hand rather than the system granting it.

Late arrival

  • Players arriving more than 20 minutes after the scheduled start are not permitted to join.
  • Ticket is non-refundable and non-transferable in this case.

Exceptions

You can always ask. The answer is usually no.

Why

Hosts (Dungeon Masters, instructors) prepare materials and craft each session. Last-minute cancellations and no-shows cannot be refunded without the host eating the cost or the store doing so.

Your ticket is what pays the DM. Part of our job is handling the money and the logistics so they can put their attention on running a good game, and holding the line on late cancellations is part of that. It is the least fun thing we do and we do it anyway, because the alternative is a DM who prepped a session absorbing the cost of an empty chair.

If you want to ask about a specific situation, talk to staff and we will get back to you.
