Privacy policy

Effective July 2025. Covers dungeonbooks.com, the SSH shop at shop.dungeonbooks.com, and SMS or other messaging with Dungeon Books.

What we collect

Only what a customer gives us:

• Name.
• Email address.
• Phone number.
• Shipping and billing address.
• Purchase history and preferences.
• Anything else the customer chooses to provide.

We do not collect browsing profiles, device fingerprints, or advertising identifiers.

What we do with it

• Process and fulfil orders.
• Communicate about orders, products, and services.
• Send SMS messages and notifications, with consent.
• Provide personalised book recommendations.
• Answer questions and provide support.
• Improve the website, products, and services.

The SSH shop

ssh shop.dungeonbooks.com keeps nothing about the person connecting.

• No database, and no account.
• A public key is not required. Connecting without one browses and buys anonymously.
• When a key is offered it is used to give that visitor their own rate limit and to show them their own session details. It is never stored and never written to a log.
• Server logs record that a session happened, the terminal size, and how long it lasted. They do not record the visitor’s key, address, or the account name their client sent.
• Buying hands off to a Square checkout page. Payment details are given to Square and never reach us.

SMS

By giving a mobile number and opting in, a customer consents to SMS from Dungeon Books. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Mobile numbers are protected:

• Not sold to third parties.
• Not shared with affiliates for marketing.
• Not rented or traded for promotional purposes.
• Opt-in and consent records are never shared with third parties.

Opt out any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or email [email protected].

Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent personal information for marketing. We share it only with service providers who help operate the business, and only where they agree to keep it confidential and use it solely on our behalf.

Retention

Personal information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as the law requires. SMS opt-in records are retained to meet regulatory requirements.

Security

We apply reasonable technical, administrative, and physical measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Customer rights

Email [email protected] to review, correct, or delete personal information. Customers may:

• Access their personal information.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion.
• Opt out of marketing.

Changes

This policy may be updated. Changes are posted here with a new effective date.
